Gut Health & Immune /Allergy Support

The immune system plays a crucial role in the susceptibility, persistence and clearance of infectious diseases, especially in vulnerable groups, such as infants and the elderly.

With 70 – 80% of immune cells being present in the gut, there is an intricate interplay between the intestinal microbiota, the intestinal epithelial layer, and the local mucosal immune system. In addition to the local mucosal immune responses in the gut, it is increasingly recognized that the gut microbiome also affects systemic immunity.

Allergic reactions begin in your immune system. When a harmless substance such as dust, mould or pollen is encountered by a person who is allergic to that substance, the immune system may over-react by producing antibodies that attack the allergens. These reactions can cause wheezing, itching, runny or congested nose, watery or itchy eyes, eczema, asthma or even adverse food reactions.

What is Leaky Gut Syndrome?

Under normal conditions, an intact intestinal barrier prevents the transmission of pathogens, pro-inflammatory substances and antigens to the internal environment. However, a lack of intestinal integrity favours its entry and could trigger a disease or inflammation.

Intestinal hyperpermeability may allow the entry of harmful microorganisms, toxins, or undigested food particles through the junctions of the intestinal epithelium, reaching the bloodstream.

These factors are then able to affect the hormonal, immune, nervous,
respiratory or reproductive systems.

How to determine if this programme is right for you or your child:

If you live in an industrialized country, the possibility of your gut being compromised is unfortunately quite large. Factors such as ultra-processed foods, environmental allergens and toxins, viral infections, antibiotic use, stress, tobacco smoke, alcohol, any gut-related infection (viral, bacterial or parasitic), prescription medications and recreational substances all contribute to our gut integrity being compromised. For this reason, all of us would benefit from following this programme. If you are interested in becoming the healthiest version of yourself, we invite you to click on the link and navigate our “CureHealth Comprehensive Health and Wellness Programme”.

Specific populations that would benefit from implementing the GBSI #1-9 (Gut Health & Immune/Allergy) protocol:

1. Young children (1 year and older) who presents with frequent upper respiratory tract infections, especially if they are exposed to a daycare or school environment.

2. Young children (1 year and older) who presents with allergic type manifestations including food allergies/intolerances, frequent episodes of wheezing/confirmed asthma, eczema or allergic rhinitis symptoms (sneezing, runny nose or nasal congestion).

3. Older children and adults presenting with any of the allergic manifestations mentioned in #2

4. Children (1 year and older) and adults presenting with any IBS-type features (abdominal distention, flatulence, reflux, indigestion, stool abnormalities – both diarrhea and constipation), especially if this follows an acute gastroenteritis type illness.

5. Children (1year and older) and adults with a confirmed autoimmune condition (especially Celiac disease and Crohn’s disease). It is important though to discuss with your attending physician before implementing the protocol and NOT to discontinue any prescribed medications.

Restore, Strengthen, and Support Your Gut Health

Our gut health and immune support protocol is designed to address and manage issues related to leaky gut syndrome. By restoring gut integrity and supporting a balanced immune system, this protocol uses natural supplements and dietary changes to strengthen overall health. Below are some key lifestyle and nutritional guidelines to support your journey.

How to implement the CureHealth protocol

Step 1

All the containers in your package are
numbered from number 1 to number 9
(you will see a GBSI number on all the labels).
Starting with Vitamin C (GBSI #1) please
follow the dosage instruction on the label

How to prepare the Vitamin C (#1):
One level scoop dissolved in 125 – 250 ml water once daily for adults, ½ a scoop for children aged 4 – 8 years, dissolved in 100 – 125 ml of water and a ¼ scoop for children aged 1 – 4 years, dissolved in 60 – 80 ml of water.

Step 2

• Each new day, add the next supplement in the sequence—from #2 to #9, until all nine are part of your daily routine. If you have a sensitive stomach or constitution, introduce a new supplement every three days instead.

Note:
• To reduce the burden of swallowing multiple capsules, all of our supplements are designed to dissolve in the already dissolved Vitamin C.
• Exceptions are the Vitamin D3/K2 (#4) and the Probiotic (#5) – these you squirt directly into
your mouth.

Our core CureHealth protocol:

GBSI #1

Vitamin C:

Supports immune health, which indirectly benefits gut health, and promotes bowel regularity by enhancing calcium and magnesium absorption.

GBSI #2

Quercetin:

An antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties, quercetin can support gut health by potentially alleviating symptoms of inflammatory bowel conditions.

GBSI #3

Vitamin D3 / K2 Drops:

Vitamin D3 supports intestinal barrier integrity and immune function, potentially reducing symptoms of IBS and other digestive disorders. Vitamin K2 promotes beneficial gut bacteria growth and supports gut epithelial cell health.

GBSI #4

Magnesium Malate:

Aids in relieving constipation, regulates gut motility, and supports gut barrier integrity, which can help in preventing leaky gut syndrome.

GBSI #5

Probiotics:

Contains beneficial strains that restore and maintain intestinal microflora, aiding digestion, reducing diarrhea from antibiotics, and supporting overall gut health and immunity.

GBSI #6

Multivitamin:

Provides essential vitamins and minerals supporting gut barrier function, immune health, and antioxidant protection, helping to maintain gut mucosal integrity.

GBSI #7

Zinzino BalanceOil+:

BalanceOil+ combines Omega-3, Omega-7, and antioxidants from olive oil to promote cardiovascular and brain health, support immune function, and reduce inflammation. The polyphenols in olive oil protect blood lipids from oxidative damage, while Vitamin D3 helps maintain a strong gut barrier and immune health. Together, these nutrients restore the Omega-6:3 balance, benefiting overall wellness and supporting gut health.

GBSI #8

Zinc Carnosine:

Promotes stomach and gut lining health, can help manage gastric ulcers, H. pylori infection, and reduces inflammation, supporting overall gut integrity.

GBSI #9

L-Glutamine:

Essential for maintaining intestinal barrier integrity, L-glutamine supports gut lining repair and is beneficial for individuals with leaky gut or inflammatory bowel disease.

After following the protocol for 3 to 6 months, you can transition to a maintenance plan to keep your gut healthy and balanced

Dietary Recommendations

Following a Mediterranean-style diet can significantly improve gut health by providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich nutrients. This diet emphasizes whole, fresh foods and encourages balance and moderation.

  • Focus on Whole Foods: Incorporate a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts. These foods are rich in fiber and phytonutrients, which help promote a diverse and healthy gut microbiome.
  • Healthy Fats: Include sources of healthy fats such as olive oil, avocados, and nuts. Omega-3 fatty acids from fish like salmon, sardines, and mackerel have anti-inflammatory effects beneficial for gut health.
  • Lean Proteins: Opt for lean protein sources such as chicken, turkey, fish, and legumes, which are easier on the digestive system.
  • Limit Processed Foods: Reduce the intake of processed, sugary, and high-fat foods that can disrupt gut bacteria and contribute to inflammation.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to aid digestion and keep the digestive system functioning optimally.

Active Lifestyle Recommendations

Physical activity is essential for supporting digestion and a strong immune system. An active lifestyle also helps manage stress, which is directly connected to gut health.

  • Moderate Exercise: Engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly, such as brisk walking, cycling, swimming, or stretching exercises.
  • Strength and Flexibility: Incorporate light weight-bearing exercises and stretching routines to improve muscle tone and overall strength.
  • Mind-Body Practices: Mindful activities like stretching, pilates, and tai chi can reduce stress and positively impact digestion.
  • Outdoor Activity: Spend time outdoors for added exposure to sunlight and natural Vitamin D, which supports immune function and bone health.

The Psychology of Nutrition

Understanding the connection between mental well-being and eating habits can empower you to make more nourishing food choices. The psychological approach to nutrition is just as important as the physical act of eating, as stress, emotions, and habits can greatly influence gut health.

  • Mindful Eating: Slow down during meals, savor each bite, and focus on the experience of eating. This practice supports digestion and can reduce stress on the gut.
  • Emotional Awareness: Identify any emotional triggers that may lead to unhealthy eating habits, such as stress or boredom. Practicing mindfulness can help you manage these triggers.
  • Positive Associations with Food: Aim to build a positive, guilt-free relationship with food. Recognize that nourishing your body is an act of self-care that supports both physical and mental health.
  • Stress Management: Engage in relaxation techniques like deep breathing exercises or meditation to help manage stress, which can greatly impact the gut.
